Between the 13th and the 16th of April of 2013 took place at IFEMA, Madrid, the 34th edition of the Spanish vocational training competition SpainSkills. During the four days of competition students, teachers, and directors of technical colleges visited the IFEMA’s pavilion number 1 and 3, prepared for the occasion.

SMC International Training sponsored the Skill 01-Polimechanics and Automation in collaboration with its distributor for Spain Alecop. After the common nerves of the first moments, the competitors developed their Test Project with professionalism and determination under the supervision of the jury.

The results where known on Sunday resulting as winners the following participants:

Gold Medal: Mr Victor Palencia Red (Castille and Leon)

 Silver medal: Mr Joan Robira Robira (Catalonia)

 Bronze medal: Mr Cristian Pérez Hernández (Canary Islands)

SMC was also present in the competition area of Industrial Control through a special version of the station HAS-206. Competitors had to program and put it into service.

Spanish education ministry in collaboration with the education departments of each Autonomous Community organises each two years the National Championship of vocational technical colleges, most known as SpainSkills, where students from all regions of Spain compete in more than 30 different specialities. The winners of each speciality will represent Spain competing in the EuroSkills and WorldSkills.

The competition will take place in Madrid (IFEMA – Pavilions 1 and 3) during 13-16 of February 2013.

SMC INTERNATIONAL TRAINING in cooperation with SIEMENS, organize a technological day. This event aims to be a meeting for universities and vocational schools teachers to discuss the emerging new trends in industrial automation.

This event will take place on April 25th at 09.15 a.m. in SMC España, S.A. premises in Vitoria-Gasteiz. The conference will be focused on the energy efficiency in industrial automation and on electrical actuators, which are increasingly present in the industry.

Although, in recent years many industry professionals are having a special sensitivity for energy management and have acquired a proven experience in the field, the industry still has a considerable scope for improvement in minimizing the impact of energy consumption.

SMC International Training is taking part in a knowledge transfer project, in cooperation with TKNIKA and 10 centers of vocational training. The project is focused on explaining the possibilities and the strategies about energy saving in compressed air facilities.

CONFERENCE AND VISITS
On January 10th- 12th/ 2012, technology knowledge transfer conference was carried out in SMC’s facilities at Vitoria. The centers with more experience in the project transferred their “know-how” to the rest of the participants. SMC performed a “Pneumatics’ hidden costs” presentation. A demo audit and two visits were done. The first visit was made to an important automotive company. This company is including corrective actions to avoid the over consumption of compressed air. TKNIKA, centre for Innovation in Vocational Training, was the second place where a visit was made. A great interest was shown by all the participants during the three days.

We can say that the conference have been a success. The centers realized about the necessity of being respectful with the environment and applying strategies of energy efficiency, integrating this subject inside the educational programs.
